If you’re here, chances are you love bold design, DIY magic, and the thrill of turning a vision into reality. But before we dive into projects and ideas, I want to share a little bit about who I am, how I got here, and the lesson that’s shaped everything I do: learning to be intentional.
A Little About Me
I’m a wife, a mom to an amazing teenage daughter, and a full-time corporate professional with an MBA in progress. Life is busy (story of the century?), but it’s also incredibly fulfilling. When I’m not managing spreadsheets or running to a meeting in my day job, you’ll find me knee-deep in a DIY project after hours, sipping on Dunkin’ Cold Brew (my ultimate creative fuel), or sneaking in a moment with my four dogs. And let me tell you, these pups? They’re equal parts adorable and chaotic, tracking in dirt faster than I can clean it!
Our home wasn’t much to look at when we first moved in—neutral walls, standard finishes, and not a lot of personality. It was the pure definition of builder grade. But I saw it for what it could be: a blank canvas waiting for a little creativity and a lot of love. So, I grabbed some paint, picked up a drill, and started experimenting. One project led to another, and before I knew it, I was hooked. DIY became more than a hobby; it became a passion and a way to express myself.
My design style is unapologetically bold. I love mixing moody colors, vintage touches, and maximalist charm to create spaces that tell a story. I believe every corner of your home should reflect who you are and how you live—not just what’s trendy on social media.
The Turning Point: Learning to Be Intentional
In the early days of my DIY journey, I’ll admit I wasn’t always intentional. I’d see a cool idea on Pinterest or Instagram, dive headfirst into a project, and hope for the best. Sometimes it worked, but more often, I ended up with half-finished projects, mismatched styles, and a lot of frustration.
At some point, I realized that I wasn’t just creating a home—I was telling a story. And like any good story, it needed purpose and direction. That’s when I started focusing on being intentional, not just in my DIY projects, but in every aspect of my life.
For me, being intentional means starting with the why. Why do I want this? Does it serve my family or make our lives better? Will it stand the test of time, or is it just a fleeting trend? It’s about creating spaces that don’t just look good but also feel good—functional, meaningful, and filled with love.
This shift in mindset has been a game changer. It’s helped me slow down, plan better, and stay true to my style, even when trends try to pull me in a million directions. It’s also shaped how I approach content creation. Instead of worrying about chasing algorithms or posting for the sake of posting, I focus on sharing what’s real, helpful, and true to me.
What You’ll Find Here
On this blog, you’ll find more than just pretty pictures and polished reveals (though there will definitely be some of those!). I want to share the real, messy, behind-the-scenes journey of transforming a house into a home.
You’ll get tutorials, tips, and inspiration for tackling your own DIY projects, no matter your budget or skill level. But more importantly, I hope to encourage you to approach design and DIY with intention. Whether it’s picking a paint color, choosing furniture, or deciding where to invest your time and energy, it all starts with purpose.
I’ll also share the lessons I’ve learned along the way—the wins, the mistakes, and the moments that made me laugh, cry, or both. Renovating and decorating can be overwhelming, but it’s also one of the most rewarding things you can do.
A Little More About Me
In addition to my love for DIY, I’m also passionate about balancing life’s many demands. My teenage daughter keeps me on my toes and reminds me daily why creating a meaningful, beautiful home matters. My husband? He’s my rock—always ready to cheer me on, lift the heavy stuff, or lovingly remind me that we can’t finish every project in a single weekend.
Then there are my four dogs, who add a whole new layer of excitement (and dirt) to our home. Let’s just say that if a flooring choice can survive them, it can survive anything! They’re constant reminders to laugh at the chaos and find joy in the little things, even when the house isn’t quite perfect.
And of course, there’s my caffeine-fueled creativity. Whether it’s Dunkin’ Cold Brew or a trusty Zero Sugar Dr Pepper, there’s always a beverage by my side as I brainstorm ideas or put the finishing touches on a project in the wee hours of the night.
Let’s Create Together
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the idea of starting something new—whether it’s a renovation, a small DIY project, or even just making time for yourself—you’re not alone. I’ve been there. But I’ve learned that when you slow down, focus on the why, and take it step by step, you can create something amazing and beautiful.
Thank you for being here and for joining me on this journey. I hope this blog inspires you to dream big, create boldly, and approach your projects—and your life—with a little more intention.
